The Band Truck

One of the problems faced by community bands is finding an appropriate performance platform for their concerts.  This can be remedied at home by building a gazebo or other style bandstand on the town green.  But, when the band goes on the road they are at the mercy of the local terrain.

Taking a cue from the turtle, the East Woodstock Cornet Band built a home they could take with them based on a 1930 Ford Model AA truck.

The bandstand has been used for concerts throughout northeastern Connecticut for a great many years.  We thought you might like see this result of necessity coupled with Yankee ingenuity.
