The
East Woodstock Cornet Band was founded by a joint Resolution of the
Connecticut House of Representatives
in 1893 and has performed
throughout northeastern Connecticut since that time. Performances are
sponsored by local organizations and are free and open to the public. Each
year the band has marched in the traditional Memorial Day and 4th of July
parades, played outdoor concerts in Woodstock and surrounding towns, and
provided music on stage for the Woodstock Fair on Labor Day weekend.
The East Woodstock Cornet Band
is under the
musical direction
of Vincent LaMonica from
Ashford CT. Vincent is a graduate of Northwestern University and an active
musician, performing on the Bassoon and Contra Bassoon. Vincent is
also on the faculty at Hartt School of Music in Hartford, and owns the Quiet
Corner Music Studio in Ashford. Click here to
